The Niners winner at Campaspe Valley Golf Club last week was Laurie Radley with a 58-22, 36 score, two strokes ahead of John Oakley with 55-17, 38.
Although Oakley hit the straightest drive on the ninth. Radley pulled it back however on the green, and had his putter working well with 12 putts.
The Wednesday Ladies winner was the club’s own Florrie Bickley with a great round of 52-14, 38. Faye Latter also played exceedingly well to record a score of 62-22, 40.
Toni Bales had the straightest drive on the third, hole, right on the line of the pin. She also took the raffle home.
There was a count back between Ruth O’Connor and Sherryl Jones who both scored 13, but the prize in the end went to O’Connor.
The club’s winter season is fast approaching, and the doors are opening on Monday April 9 with a mixed game, followed by a social barbecue. This also means that the club’s annual subs are coming due.
At the Rochester Golf Club, a dozen golfers played the back nine in last Wednesday’s nine-hole short course competition.
Bruce Bryant returned back to the playing field after a recent operation and was in good form, winning from Kevin McCormick, who also took the nearest the pin prize.
This Wednesday’s event is a four ball assembly at 8.30am, teeing off at 9am.
Des Gallagher was the best of the Rochy crew last Tuesday at Rich River with 39 stableford points.
Subs are now due and can be paid to PO Box 49 or Ian Clark at Mitre 10. Lots of pine straw mounds to be cleaned up if any members have time over the next few weeks as the season starts on Saturday March 24.
