PREPARATIONS for Elmore Harness Racing Club’s Boxing Day meeting are in full swing.

The event will feature some of the region’s top harness racing in a family friendly environment.

The day’s entertainment will contain a number of safe and enjoyable options for children.

For the young ones, options include a water slide, face painting and a petting zoo.

And for those looking for a future in racing, there is something special.

The club will be putting on pony trotters racing, allowing children to have their early experiences of racing in a safe and supervised environment.

Young ones will be able to take the reigns of the pony and race against others.

If that taste isn’t enough, there is also the opportunity to take a dual sulk ride, where a training person from the harness racing centre will take you on the track between races to see what its like in a real event.

The day will also include a barbecue.

But the event is not only for the children, with live music and raffles of a wheel barrow full of groceries a feature for the adults.

But the main event is of course the racing. The day will be packed with racing, all building to the main event Pacing Cup.

The event also features the John O’Riley memorial trotters race, which celebrates the late district vet.

For those outside Elmore looking for some racing, a free bus from Echuca to the meeting will be available on the day.

To book a spot on the bus, contact Jason on 0411 955 957.
