ROCHESTER Netball Club had a clean sweep on Saturday against Euroa at home.
The under 17s started off slowly with some missed rebound opportunities and found themselves seven goals down at quarter time.
They lifted their intensity in the second quarter and made better drives to the ball.
Brielle O’Meara and Tess Tegelove were unbeatable in goals, shooting with amazing accuracy.
Sarah Ingram moved into center and played tight, contesting every ball and creating turnovers, and Annie Hughes was dynamite in goal defence.
The girls finished off strongly to take the win 55-47.
In B reserve, the shooting combination of Maddie Frawley and Brittany Hercus got the girls off to a great start which continued on all game.
The strong drives and passing by Hayley Coghill in wing attack and Jac Rasmussen in center helped the girls maintain possession of the ball and ensure the goalers could convert.
The defensive work by Eliza Hodgens and Grace Wachter once again provided many intercepts and rebounds which gave the mid court players plenty of opportunity take the ball down the court.
Rochester continued to extend their lead as the game played out to take the win by 35 goals, 63-28.
The B graders were ready to play hard and brought with them a very disciplined strong team.
Lucy Ward and Alyse Nalder were sensational in goals with accurate goaling and combined well together in the ring and the defensive combination of Maddie Holt, Shannen Keath and Jamie Dingwall were brilliant with Dingwall shining in wing defence, taking plenty of intercepts.
Mid court players, Lil Ward and Jamiah Clarke made plenty of space and attacked and defended when needed.
It was a near perfect display of teamwork by all players for a well deserved win 50-38.
A special mention to Zali Hocking and Hayley Coghill who came up from their respective grades to sit on the bench.
In A grade, the first quarter saw an even start to the game with some slick movement through the mid court.
Bridgette Holt, Maddy Egglestone and Linda Rasmussen worked overtime in defence on much taller opponentsm Eesha Clarke and Ellie Cuttriss worked well through the mid court creating space and driving well and Morgan Dingwall and Sahra Brooks moved well in the shooting circle and shot with accuracy.
A fantastic four quarters from all girls to come away with an 11 goal win 53-42.
A great day for the Rochester Tigerettes, hopefully they can continue the good form in the next round against Benalla away after the bye.
