ROCHESTER Football Club’s under 12s boys travelled to Merrigum to do battle with the boys from Kyabram on Friday night.
The boys started brilliantly, linking up through the middle of the ground, sharing the football and tackling with ferocity. Their efforts saw them kick three goals in the first quarter.
One of the goals was a brilliant snap from Reed Hocking while another came from Nate Rasmussen after a great pass from Harrison Foster, who played another strong game at centre half-forward.
The last was a great goal from Ashton Walker, his first for the year in what was his best game for the season.
The boys continued to pile on the pressure in the second quarter and with the midfield getting on top the boys provided plenty of opportunities to the forward line.
It was another terrific performance by the boys, who are getting better by the week.
Other strong performers on the night were Kody Lees, who is really starting to get in amongst it, Hunter Wileman, who won plenty of the footy on his wing, and Zac Wileman and Jai Milligan who gave plenty of run off the backline.
Next week will be another challenge when the boys take on Runnymede at Colbinabbin on Friday night.
