Fellow retired post office managers Bruce Bryant and Steve Malley put their stamp on the rest of the field on the annual golf trip to Barham on Sunday.
Playing in cold, blustery and at times wet conditions Bryant and Malley posted a great score of 45 points and take home the spoils, the three-man team of Leigh Hicks, Chris White and James Hann were next best on 41, from Brad Major and Scott Wileman 40 and James Walsh and Ian Pollard 39.
Although Wileman was nearest on the three, Bryant’s chip in for five stableford points was the better result, playing partner Malley was closest on the 10, just sneaking inside David Marshall whose first shot of the day had the assembled crowd roaring and his partner Graham Willis wanting to double the bet.
Jess Cuttriss 15 and Steve Bubb 18 were the other nearest the pin winners.
Frank Severino’s eagle two on the short par four 9th had his playing partner Darren White speechless for most of the afternoon.
Thanks to Ian Pollard, Leigh Hicks and Ian Clarke for all the work they put in through the year in arranging this great fun day.
