Tennis is about to be served up

October 11, 2016

Tennis courts across the Campaspe Shire are still unplayable due to wet weather.

The juniors and seniors are itching to get on the lawn courts, but due to rain clouds still releasing unwanted rain the courts are still unplayable at this stage.

Fingers crossed will be up and ready by the end of the week as the Campaspe Tennis Association competition is due to start this weekend.

The 16 afternoon teams that were in section two (a) will now be split into two draws of eight teams, playing off for the section one and section two shields.

The draw is still to be completed and will be released later in the week.

Goulburn Murray

Rochester and Lockington-Bamawm United section one teams have taken the opportunity to broaden their tennis zone and have entered into the 10-team Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association competition.

They’ll take on teams from Echuca, Kyabram and Nathalia when the season starts Saturday.

Draw is to be released by the Association later in the week.
